MSN users find paid results most relevant

A new iProspect study shows interesting results regarding paid advertisements in search engines. When asked which search results they found most relevant, users of the top search engines had different choices.

Users of Google and Yahoo found natural search results as the most relevant, while 71.2% of MSN users found a paid advertisement as the most relevant result for their query. AOL users found both types equally relevant. Could this be because Google and Yahoo users expect their natural results to be the most relevant because they trust the search engine, and so they are more likely to ignore paid ads?

To Pay or Not to Pay?
